SEC Media Days is in full swing, and the overall consensus among most of the media is that Texas will win the conference this year. That was the case each of the last two seasons as well, but as everyone knows Georgia went on to win the SEC both years.
Even with that being the case though, the media is in love with Texas and thinks every other team should just award them the trophy now. Even Vegas favors Texas over Georgia for the third year in a row.
Georgia linebacker Raylen Wilson was asked about this at SEC Media Days on Tuesday, and he gave a somewhat snarky response that even Kirby Smart would be proud of.

Raylen Wilson shut the media up about their unwarranted Texas hype
It's impossible to know why the media and Vegas is so in love with Texas. Sure the Longhorns have had a really good team each of the last two years just like they're expected to have this season too, but at some point they need to give Georgia the respect they deserve.
That's at least what fans think, but it sounds like Wilson is just fine with Texas getting all of this attention. Maybe he knows that this is exactly what his team needs to fuel them to be the best version of themselves all season long. Maybe this disrespect is what led them to win the SEC two years in a row and beat Texas all three times they played along the way.
Whoever asked Wilson this question likely was looking for a viral response about why Texas doesn't deserve the hype they are getting. But Wilson didn't fall for that. Instead he laughed off the question and said he and his teammates are only going to control what they can control, and that is trying to get better each and every day.
That's what worked for them the last two seasons, so why would they change now?
Georgia's results will always trump Texas's preseason hype
Does anyone wonder if Texas likes being crowned the preseason SEC Champion every offseason? Sure it is a nice honor, but when they fail to live up to those expectations every year then why would they want to continue being the favorite?
One would have to assume that Texas would rather be Georgia who has been the top dog in the SEC this decade. In fact, no team has won more than Georgia in the entire country since 2021.
2021 is when NIL first became legal, and since then Georgia has won two National Championships and three SEC titles. No team in the country can compare to that, especially Texas.
But Texas seems to enjoy being the center of attention every offseason. And from Georgia's perspective they are more than fine with letting them have their moment because they know that at the end of the season they would much rather be the team getting all of the attention because they just won the conference.
