Georgia football’s win over Tennessee on Saturday was big for a lot of reasons. The most obvious is that this victory will go a long way in helping Georgia make it to Atlanta to defend their SEC Championship crown they won last season.

On top of that, this win also puts the Bulldogs in a great position to make the College Football Playoff as they have gotten over one of the biggest hurdles in their way this season. Even keeping their win streak alive against Tennessee is another reason why this win was so important.

But this victory will also have a huge impact off the field as well because winning big games like this will always have a positive impact on the recruiting trail.

Recruits from all over the country were tuning into this game as it was the biggest game of the week in all of college football. So the fact that Georgia won in dramatic fashion should help UGA in their pursuit of many of their top recruits moving forward.

One recruit was asked for his reaction to this game, and his response was as bland as it gets but at the same time shows just how dominant Georgia has been over the past few years.

“I expected that from Georgia.”

Recruits expect Georgia to beat Tennessee

Saturday’s win marked the ninth straight victory for Georgia over Tennessee. Most of these wins have come when the Volunteers had a pretty good team, so it is no small feat for Georgia to beat a program like Tennessee this consistently.

Georgia has been so dominant that recruits just expect to see UGA beat Tennessee at this point. This was even the case even though the Vols looked better than Georgia entering this game and jumped out to an early 21-7 lead. Even though all of that was the case, recruits still expected Georgia to win, and that’s exactly what happened.

Tennessee will always be one of Georgia’s biggest competitors on the recruiting trail, but it’s hard to see why any recruit would pick the Vols over UGA after this decade long dominance the Bulldogs are currently on.
