Georgia football has not had the best of luck when it comes to the transfer portal this offseason. Seemingly every other program in the country has earned at least one commitment from the portal since the regular season came to an end, but that has not been the case for Kirby Smart and Georgia.
The Bulldogs have been after a large amount of prospects in the portal, and based on that large amount it can be difficult to know who UGA has the best chance at landing. Some players Georgia isn't actually that interested in, some have committed elsewhere and some are still very high on UGA, but where does Georgia stand with the three players that they are the most interested in?
1. USC WR Zachariah Branch
The first player that Georgia is showing a lot of interest in is USC transfer wide receiver Zachariah Branch. Branch is one of the best players in the entire country, and that is seen as 247Sports ranks him as the No. 4 overall player in the portal and No. 2 wide receiver.
Branch has already been on a visit to Georgia, which occurred last Friday, Dec. 20. This was the first porgram that he visited after entering the portal, so this shows that he has a lot of interest in UGA.
Branch also went on to visit Arizona State the day after his visit to Georgia, but that is the only other visit that has been made public at this point. If Georgia is only up againt Arizona State, then they should feel really good about their chances at winning this recruitment. But it still is no guarantee that they will beat the Sun Devils or any other team that enters the mix, so we are going to have to wait and see how this recruitment plays out.
