There's a new name Georgia football fans need to learn in UGA's backfield before the 2025 season begins. Running back Bo Walker is a member of Georgia's incoming true freshman recruiting class and he has quickly become someone that has impressed everyone inside the program.
In fact, ESPN recently named Walker the top "sleeper" player for Georgia entering the 2025 season.
Bo Walker could be the missing piece Georgia's backfield needs
Georgia's running game was not great last season. A lot of that had to do with the countless injuries suffered both in their running back room and on the offensive line. Regardless, the run game needs to be a lot better this season if Georgia wants to repeat as SEC Champions.
Georgia's running back room is full of talent, but Walker has quickly made his case for why he needs some touches this fall. The hype surrounding Walker began this spring when he was one of the most impressive and surprising players during Georgia's spring game, and the excitement surrounding him as only grown this summer.
Out of high school Walker was a four-star recruit according to 247Sports and the No. 324 overall player in the country according to their composite rankings. This shows that Walker was a great recruit in high school, but not many initially expected him to have much of an impact during his true freshman season.
A lot of that is due to the immense talent at the position which includes likely starter Nate Frazier and Illinois transfer Josh McCray. Roderick Robinson also looks ready to contribute this year as well after dealing with multiple injuries the last two years.
While those three will likely be the biggest contributors for Georgia out of the backfield, UGA fans can't forget about Walker. And if ESPN is correct, he is someone that could do a lot of damage for Georgia this season.
