Georgia football's 2026 schedule is full of a lot of thrilling matchups The Bulldogs get to battle Ole Miss and Alabama on the road while hosting Auburn at home and facing Florida in Atlanta next season. Georgia even gets a chance at revenge against Jared Curtis and Vanderbilt next season as well.

But there is one team clearly missing from Georgia's schedule next year, and it's a shame the SEC made the decision to keep this team off of their schedule.

SEC ends Georgia vs Tennessee streak

Georgia and Tennessee may not be traditional rivals, but over the last three decades it has sometimes felt that way. These two teams have faced off against each other each of the last 34 seasons, but that streak will come to and end next season as the SEC did not put those two programs against each other.

The new SEC scheduling model gives each team three opponents they are guaranteed to play every season. Georgia's three annual opponents include their two traditional rivals in Auburn and Florida as well as South Carolina. The Gamecocks are a very random team for Georgia who likely was only given to them as an annual matchup because of how close these two schools are to each other. But it's impossible to not think about how much better facing Tennessee every year instead of South Carolina would be.

At the end of the day this is probably very good news for the Volunteers. Georgia has absolutely dominated Tennessee in recent years as the Bulldogs have won each of the last nine meetings. But this matchup has given the conference a lot of exciting moments which includes Georgia's 44-41 overtime victory this past season, so the SEC may have dropped the ball with this decision.

Georgia and Tennessee will still get to play each other every other year moving forward, but it's a shame they won't face each other every season anymore.
