SEC Media Days begins next week which marks the beginning of the college football season. Georgia football will send three players and Kirby Smart to SEC Media days on July 15 alongside a few other programs.

Typically Georgia will send upperclassmen to this event, and that is the case once again this season as junior quarterback Gunner Stockton, junior linebacker CJ Allen and senior defensive back Daylen Everette will represent Georgia alongside Smart next week.

Gunner Stockton's inclusion at SEC Media days confirms his place as UGA's starting QB

As mentioned, every year Georgia's representatives at media days consists of a few upperclassmen and the leaders of the team. Georgia also typically sends their best players to this event as well. So knowing this it appears that Georgia's offseason quarterback competition may have come to an end.

Stockton has been battling redshirt freshman Ryan Puglisi this offseason for the starting quarterback job. Many have assumed Stockton would end up winning this job, but that was never a guarantee. This decision from Smart to bring Stockton to media days however likely confirms that he will be Georgia's starting QB on Aug. 30 when their season gets underway.

It is important to note that Smart has not officially announced who Georgia's starter will be this season. It's also unlikely that he will confirm this anytime soon and he may even wait until the day of their first game to send either Stockton or Puglisi out for Georgia's first possession. But this decision to bring Stockton to media days will likely end any debate Georgia fans may be having about who their quarterback will be this fall.

Be sure to pay close attention on July 15 when Georgia participates at SEC Media Days, because all three of these players as well as Smart will have a lot of time to answer questions the media have for them entering as the 2025 season approaches.
