SEC Media Days has dominated the college football scene throughout this week, and leading those discussions are the Georgia Bulldogs who are the two-time defending conference champions.
Georgia is looking to win the SEC for a historic third time in a row which is something only two other schools have done since the introduction of the SEC Championship game in the early 90s. They are one of the favorites to win the SEC, but every team in the conference wants to be the one to knock them off. Only a handful of them stand a realistic chance at doing so though.
Media Days is the unofficial start of the college football season, so knowing that it's time to look closely at all 16 teams and see how they stack up heading into the season.

Six teams stand between Georgia and repeating as SEC Champions in 2026
Realistically there are only six teams capable of overcoming Georgia and winning the SEC this season. The first is the Texas Longhorns who are the current betting favorites.
Texas and Georgia have much better odds to win the SEC than everyone else, so Vegas believes these two will meet in the SEC Championship game. The Longhorns hope this year will be their year, but will they actually be able to finally live up to their preseason hype?
After Texas there are two really talented teams in Texas A&M and Alabama who could win the conference as well. The Aggies nearly made the conference championship game last year and return a ton of talent this year, and Alabama is Alabama and will always be a threat.
After that second tier there are three more teams in Oklahoma, LSU and Ole Miss who could unseat Georgia as well. The Sooners might be the most equipped out of this tier as they arguably have the best defense in the conference, but LSU has one of the most talented rosters with new head coach Lane Kiffin and Ole Miss has the best quarterback in the SEC in Trinidad Chambliss.
A few other teams may feel like they can win the conference, but in reality it is these six team that Georgia should be the most concerned about right now.
One stretch will define Georgia's 2026 campain
At the end of the day Georgia can't waste time worrying about things they can't control. All they can control is how they prepare and handle all 12 opponents they will face this season, so that has to be the only thing they are thinking about right now.
But looking at their upcoming schedule there is a four game stretch that will make or break their season.
This stretch begins in week six with a road game at Alabama and ends with another massive road tilt at Ole Miss. Between these two massive showdowns are two rivalry matchups against Auburn at home and Florida in Atlanta.
Ole Miss and Alabama will be more than capable of beating Georgia, and Auburn and Florida will be motivated to finally beat UGA again. If Georgia can survive this stretch though they will be in a prime position to not only make the SEC Championship game but earn a high seed in the College Football Playoff.
