Georgia football may have just finished their regular season at 10-2 after beating Georgia Tech, which is objectively a good record, but that doesn't mean UGA fans have been excited about what they have seen on the field so far this season.

There have been many issues on both sides of the ball this year, but the offense has been the most inconsistent. And when talking about the offenses issues, it's impossible not to bring up the struggles at wide receiver.

Has Carson Beck been perfect this season? No, he hasn't. But his wide receivers have not done him any favors with how often that drop the ball. In fact, Georgia is one of the teams in the entire country with the most drops this season.

So knowing this has been a major problem for Georgia this season, one wouldn't expect a receiver to be closing in on one of the best statistical seasons in Georgia football history. But that is exactly what Arian Smith is doing.

So far this season, Smith has recorded 42 receptions for 709 yards and four touchdowns. That is a very solid season for Smith, but a lot of it has been overshadowed by all the drops from himself and the rest of the wide receiver room.

However, Smith is just 157 yards away from entering the top 10 in single season receiving yards in Georgia football history.

And with at least two games remaining for Smith this season (assuming Georgia makes the College Football Playoff), it appears he has a great chance of reaching this mark. It will be tough to do so in just two games, but if Georgia wins their first CFP game then this would feel like a lock for Smith.

Hopefully Smith is able to get there, because that would make a subpar season from Georgia's wide receivers feel a little better.
