Georgia football isn’t the only team going through fall camp right now. NFL teams throughout the county are in the middle of their training camps as well, meaning former Bulldogs across the country are gearing up for the 2025 NFL season.
One player that Georgia fans will be watching closely this fall is linebacker Jalon Walker. Unfortunately Walker reportedly picked up a hamstring injury recently that could impact his readiness for the upcoming season.
Jalon Walker has a "small hamstring issue" and will not be out for the full practice today.

Plan will be to go full speed indy then keep being cautious with him.

Jalon Walker suffered minor setback during training camp with the Atlanta
Maria Martin with 11Alive News in Atlanta reported on Thursday that Walker is dealing with a “small hamstring issue.” Martin did not include how the injury occurred, but she did share that he was not a full participant at the Atlanta Falcons practice on Thursday.
The good news for Walker is that it sounds like this injury is very minor. Martin included in her update that Walker is able to still do a lot of things individually during practice right now, but the Falcons are holding him out for team portions of the their practice just to be cautious.
While it is nice that this injury does not sound serious, any injury at this point in his career is bad. Every NFL rookie needs as many reps as they can get ahead of their first season in the league. This is especially the case for Walker who will be expected to play a lot of snaps this season and potentially even earn a starting linebacker spot. So this injury, even if it’s minor in nature, will hurt his offseason development ahead of his first NFL season.
The Falcons first preseason game is coming fast as Atlanta will play the Detroit Lions on Aug. 8. It would be a little surprising to see Walker play a lot in that game, but if he can see the field even just a little bit then that would eliminate any worries about his health going forward.
