Georgia football enters the halftime locker room leading Georgia Tech 13p-3. The formula for Georgia up to this point has been very simple, play sound defense and run the ball as much as possible.

While Gunner Stockton and the offense really struggled in the passing game throughout the first half, the gameplan coming into this matchup was to run the ball. Georgia Tech has one of the worst run defenses in college football, so Georgia knew they could rely on their solid run game against the Yellow Jackets. And so far that strategy has been working to perfection.

Georgia has countless running backs excelling so far in this game, but it's impossible to not notice that redshirt freshman Chauncey Bowens did not play during the first half.

Chauncey Bowens nowhere to be found vs Georgia Tech

Bowens suffered an injury two week ago against Texas that kept him sidelined last week against Charlotte. Nobody panicked about him not playing against Charlotte because he was not needed to win that game, but his presense on the field would have been nice against a team like Georgia Tech. Unfortunately it appears his injury is still bothering him as he has not seen the field up to this point.

Georgia however has been able to thrive without him behind an amazing first half from Nate Frazier. Frazier finished the half with 11 carries for a whopping 97 yards as the Yellow Jackets had no answer for him. Josh McCray also got a lot of run as well as he totaled eight carries for 32 yards.

At this point it is unlikely for Bowens to play at all this game, but it is worth mentioning that he is dressed and on the sidelines. So it looks like he is available if he is absolutely needed, but it might be wise to let him sit the rest of the game and rest up before postseason play begins.
