Where there's smoke, there's usually fire and we now know that former Georgia Bulldogs standout George Pickens is on the move. On Wednesday morning, news broke that Pickens has officially been traded by the Pittsburgh Steelers to the Dallas Cowboys.
Here we go. The Pickens trade rumors have been going on for quite some time and a move to Dallas makes a lot of sense. The second-round pick out of Georgia will make his way to Arlington to be the No. 2 wide receiver for Dak Prescott, making plays along with CeeDee Lamb. Adam Schefter was the one to break the news:

George Pickens has been traded by the Pittsburgh Steelers to the Dallas Cowboys
Coming out of Georgia in the 2022 class, Pickens was selected with the No. 52 overall pick by Pittsburgh. He was a three-year playmaker for Mike Tomlin, highlighted by his brilliant 2023 campaign. That season, Pickens hauled in 63 receptions for 1,140 yards and five touchdowns.
Last season for the AFC North side, Pickens posted 59 receptions for 900 yards and three touchdowns. He was a fan favorite while he suited up for the Bulldogs too, impressing when he was in college and making SEC defensive backs look silly.
That was when he was healthy, though. In the spring of 2021, Pickens went down with a torn ACL, which forced him to miss the majority of his junior season playing for Kirby Smart. Luckily, however, he was able to get back on the field in late November and he helped UGA win the natty that winter.
In the title game against Alabama, a 33-18 win for the Dawgs, Pickens finished with only one reception, but goodness, it was a special 52-yarder. Had he not suffered his serious knee injury, it felt like he was going to be a lock to be a first-rounder.
Instead, Pittsburgh grabbed him on Day 2 and he was pretty fun to watch while playing for the Steelers. However, the door was open for him to be traded and Jerry Jones finally made Cowboys fans happy with a move he needed to make to help out Prescott. UGA supporters will now be ready to watch Pickens keep playing at a high level in the NFC East too.
