Stetson Bennett is 2 Rams wins away from doing something no Georgia QB ever has

Bennett may not be in the spotlight, but he's got a shot at history.

When the Los Angeles Rams take on the Seattle Seahawks on Sunday at Lumen Field, all eyes are going to be on one former Georgia standout quarterback. In this case, we're talking about Matthew Stafford, who has been playing at an MVP level this season.

However, he's not the only former Dawg QB on the Rams roster that the Georgia faithful are sending well wishes too. Stetson Bennett is also on the Rams and while he's the third-string signal-caller, he's looking at potentially making some history even from the sidelines.

That's because up to this point, no Georgia quarterback has ever won the National Championship Game AND been on a Super Bowl-winning roster. That all can change if the Rams win the NFC title game vs. the Hawks and then go on to beat the winner of the Patriots/Broncos game next month with the Lombardi Trophy on the line.

Stetson Bennett has a chance at making Georgia history if the Rams win it all

Again, as our friends over at Sports Illustrated pointed out, no Georgia QB has been able to pull this off. While Bennett isn't going to be taking the field (barring a huge shocker) vs. the Seahawks, he's still with LA and he's doing what he can to support Stafford ahead of his monster showdown.

Seattle is considered a small favorite for this one, but the Rams don't care about that. As for Bennett, people all over Athens will never forget the magic he was able to create for Kirby Smart. A former walk-on QB, he'll always be a Georgia fan favorite.

In 2021 and 2022, Bennett led Georgia to back-to-back national titles, putting on a show in each respective season. In '22, he was playing at an unreal level, finishing the season throwing for 4,218 yards and 27 touchdowns. It led to him getting taken in the fourth round of the 2023 NFL Draft by the Rams. Soon enough, we'll find out if he and Los Angeles will go on to win the Super Bowl, which would be yet another incredible achievement he can add to his list.
