Stetson Bennett has quietly been lurking in the shadows with the Los Angeles Rams as he has been patiently waiting for his first true opportunity in the NFL. Bennett is in his third year with the Rams, but up to this point he is yet to start a game in the NFL.

Bennett however took advantage of the opportunities he was given during the Rams preseason games as he was arguably one of the most impressive players across the NFL. Because of his impressive performance this preseason, Bennett has shown he deserves a shot to be a starting QB in the NFL. That opportunity won't be coming in Los Angeles as long as Matthew Stafford is still in town, so Bennett may have to move teams to live out his dream of becoming an NFL starter.

And there is one team in particular who could really use his help that Georgia fans especially would love to see happen.

Stetson Bennet could be the answer to the Atlanta Falcons problems

The Atlanta Falcons just wrapped up what was one of their worst games in recent history as they lost to the Carolina Panthers on Sunday 30-0. Obviously a lot of things went wrong if they lost by this much, but the Falcons quarterback play was hideous.

Michael Penix Jr. got the start and struggled mightily by completing just 50 percent of his passes for 172 yards, zero touchdowns and two interceptions. Penix wasn't the only reason the Falcons lost, but his play prevented Atlanta's offense from getting into any rhythem.

Would Bennett solve all of Atlanta's problems? Likely not, but he certainly could do much better than any of the quarterbacks currently on the Falcons roster. During the 2025 preseason, Bennett completed 68.8 percent of his passes for 512 yards and five touchdowns. Sure playing in the regular season is more difficult than the preseason, but these stats are no joke.

It likely is just a matter of time until Bennett is given an opportunity to be the full time starter for an NFL team, and if Georgia fans got their way that would happen in Atlanta. Who knows if that will happen or not, but as long as Bennett becomes a starter somewhere then Georgia fans will have a new reason to celebrate.
