Stetson Bennett has once again reminded everyone what makes him such a special quarterback. He is never going to impress anyone with his measureables and he doesn't have the typical "look" that an NFL QB usually has, but he continues to prove time and time again that he deserves to be a starter in the NFL.

Unfortunately for Bennett he will not be passing Matthew Stafford on the depth chart with the Los Angeles Rams no matter how great he plays in the preseason. But Bennett's recent dominance this preseason with the Rams is creating some controversy in the Rams QB room surrounding who their No. 2 quarterback should be,

“His numbers look good, are we just going to ignore that because we’re going to lean on Jimmy Gs experience?” ESPN's Stephen A. Smith shared via dawgnation.com“What if this brother is balling during the preseason and he can ride that momentum into the first part of the season?”

Entering the Rams training camp Bennett was the third quarterback on their depth chart. The Rams however gave Bennett a lot more opportunities throughout camp to work with the team with Stafford sidelined with an injury, and Bennett played some of the best football of his career over the past month.

Veteran QB Jimmy Garoppolo has been the backup with the Rams, but Bennett's recent resurgence shows that maybe that shouldn't be the case. Garoppolo did play well throughout training camp as well, but Bennett potentially is the quarterback of the future in LA. Bennett is young and is improving every time he takes the field, and Garoppolo is aging with a contract that expires at the end of this season.

So the smart choice for the Rams may be to promote the Georgia legend in Bennett as the backup quarterback to Stafford as a way to help him prepare for the potential future where he is their starting quarterback when Stafford and Garoppolo are gone.
