Every Georgia football fan loves Stetson Bennett. Even though he has yet to become an NFL starter, what he did at Georgia will be remembered for as long as football is played in Athens.
Bennett is going through training camp with the Los Angeles Rams right now, and he once again showed that he can still make all the throws like he did at Georgia with this incredible touchdown pass.

Bennett could become the Rams starter sooner rather than later
As mentioned, Bennett will be the third string quarterback behind Matthew Stafford and backup Jimmy Garoppolo this season. But that could change in a hurry with Garoppolo’s contract expiring after this season. If Bennett is able to continue shining in practice with throws like this, the Rams might be willing to let Garoppolo walk and promote Bennett as their second string QB after this season.
Fast forward one more year to the 2027 offseason when Stafford and Bennett’s contracts with the Rams both end. The Rams showed some hesitancy extending Stafford this offseason, so it’s likely that this is when they will officially move on from him. Los Angeles could add a new QB in free agency or the draft at that point, or they could extend Bennett and name him their new starter.
But in order for any of that to happen, Bennett has to take advantage of every opportunity he gets to impress his coaching staff. Unfortunately he likely won’t get those opportunities in a game this season, so that’s why practice each day these next two years are extremely important.
And if Bennett keeps making throw like the one in the highlight above, he could be well on his way to earning a starting spot with the Rams or any other team that wants to take a chance on him.
