The Miami Dolphins made some major moves at quaterback over the last 24 hours, but unfortuntaely none of them involved Stetson Bennett.
Over the last day the Dolphins waived quarterbacks Cam Miller and Mark Gronowski. This left them with only one quarterback on their active roster, but instead of going out and trading for Stetson Bennett they traded for Packers quarterback Kyle McCord instead.

Stetson Bennett could've been a realistic trade option for the Miami Dolphins
After the Dolphins cut two quarterbacks they were left with Malik Willis as their only quarterback. On the bright side he was expected to be their starter this season, but every team needs more than one quarterback on their roster so they needed to go out and trade for someone.
Stetson Bennett could've been a good option of them as he likely is relatively cheap. The Rams don't need Bennett since they have Ty Simpson on their roster as well, so they could've given him up for a small return from the Dolphins. Instead either the Rams weren't interested in shipping Bennett out or the Dolphins had other options they were much interested in instead.
Landing in Miami would've been a good outcome for Bennett though. Willis is yet to fully establish himself as a legit starting quarterback in the NFL and he is coming off an injury at the end of last season, so there's a possibility he wouldn't work out in Miami this year. That would allow their backup to get a chance to play, but unfortunately for Bennett that player won't be him.
LA Rams may love Stetson Bennett a little too much
This is Bennett's fourth season with the Rams, and so far he has only ever been No. 3 on their depth chart. He has a chance to win the backup job with the Rams this season for the first time, but even if he does it is likely that he will enter free agency next year when his contract ends. If he is the Rams' backup though there's always a chance he could play during the season, but starter Matthew Stafford is extremely durable and likely will be able to play all season, so Bennett won't actually have much of a chance to play at all.
He however could've played in Miami this season if he were traded to the Dolphins.
It's unclear if Miami didn't want him or if the Rams didn't want to trade him, but the Rams most likely didn't want to ship him out. Head coach Sean McVay has always spoken highly of Bennett, so the most likely scenario is probably that McVay had no interest in trading him.
That is unfortunate for Bennett because as long as he is in LA he more than likely won't be their starter.
Bennett could have a chance to sign with a new team next year when he is a free agent, but it would've been better if he was traded to Miami. He would've had a better chance to play this season if he was a Dolphin, but instead he is stuck in LA behind the reigning NFL MVP where he isn't even guaranteed to be No. 2 on their depth chart.
At this point it probably isn't likely that he will be traded by the Rams, so all he can do is continue to play well whenever he gets a chance on the field.
