Kirby Smart has been working hard to build the 2027 recruiting class for Georgia, but that doesn't mean he isn't looking towards the future even more in Athens. Smart has already gotten a commitment from the No. 1 overall recruit in the class of 2028, quarterback Jayden Wade.

Wade announced his commitment to Georgia back in November 2025, very early in his recruitment. However, as many know, a commitment is not signed, sealed, and delivered for Wade to be in a Bulldogs uniform come his freshman season.

Rivals recruiting expert Chad Simmons has reported that a push is being made for Wade from both Tennessee and LSU. It seems like Tennessee head coach Josh Heupel and new LSU head coach Lane Kiffin both love what they see from Wade and are hoping to get a flip.

Wade made his commitment early in his recruitment, proving that he must really love what Smart and Georgia have to offer. In an interview with 247Sports, Wade even reaffirmed his commitment to Georgia, which should have fans taking a collective deep sigh of relief.

"I'm all the way locked in with Georgia," Wade said. "I might visit a couple other schools, but nothing has changed with Georgia, nothing is changing with Georgia."

Other schools will certainly make their pursuit for Wade, especially when more of the focus turns to the Class of 2028. It is good to see, though, that Wade is happy with his choice of Georgia. It makes sense he will want to check out other programs as well with official visits, but it would probably have to take a lot to get him to flip his commitment.

Wade's dream of the NFL is one he knows he can achieve at Georgia, and everything that Smart builds turns to gold, right?
