Death, taxes and high school quarterback recruits believing they will start right away after coming to Georgia. The last true freshman to get serious playing time was Jake Fromm in 2017. He took his Jacob Eason's job. Matthew Stafford played down the stretch for Georgia way back in 2006. So when notions started to come out Jared Curtis wanted to start right away at Georgia, rumors went berserk.

Did we not do this two years ago with Dylan Raiola? The former five-star recruit de-committed from Georgia and flipped to his alma mater of Nebraska. He has started the last two seasons for the Cornhuskers, prior to suffering a season-ending injury this year. With Curtis having played flirt with Vanderbilt in recent weeks, it has become a game of commitment chicken of will he flip or will he not?

Well, Tom Loy of 247Sports is fully of the belief that the Nashville native quarterback could flip soon.

The five-star quarterback recruit from Nashville has been committed to Georgia since early May. While he has spent some time with the Vanderbilt program in recent weeks, the only other team that had been in serious contention to land him was Oregon during the recruiting process. If Curtis wants to come to Georgia, he better get ready to do what every quarterback has done for the most part...

If he does flip, Georgia will likely come out of this just fine. It is what the Bulldogs almost always do.

247Sports insider believes Jared Curtis is going to flip to Vanderbilt

We now live in a world where this is possible. Vanderbilt is effectively two wins away from making an unprecedented trip to the College Football Playoff. If the Commodores beat rivals Kentucky and Tennessee in back-to-back games, they will be in and around the playoff cutline. Curtis is a Nashville native, so him flipping to the 'Dores is not out of the realm of possibility, but it would be quite historic.

If we want to remove Eason, Fromm and Stafford from the equation, Georgia usually has a quarterback who spends some time as a backup before getting his run. Gunner Stockton waited, as did Carson Beck, Stetson Bennett IV, Hutson Mason, Aaron Murray, Joe Cox, and so on. It is not totally farfetched to see a freshman start at quarterback for Georgia, but it is not something they ever plan.

In the day and age of NIL, early playing may be of the utmost importance. You can get that at a lot of places, just not at Georgia. So if that is the most important thing to Curtis, then he can go to Vanderbilt and try his best to be the next Diego Pavia. Loy and others are starting to get the idea that Curtis will flip. This is kind of a believe if when you see it sort of dynamic at play here. It is what it is...

For now, Georgia has improved to 10-1 on the season and has punched its ticket into the playoff.
