It was not too long ago that five-star quarterback Dylan Raiola shocked the Georgia Bulldogs by flipping his commitment to the Nebraska Cornhuskers. This recruiting cycle, Georgia fans are having concerns that a similar fate could be heading in their direction.

Five-star quarterback Jared Curtis has had rumors circling that he could be flipping his commitment to a different program as the Nashville native has had his name associated with Vanderbilt along with other top programs. Despite the rumors, Georgia fans have nothing to worry about and here is why.

Gunner Stockton

Gunner Stockton has easily turned himself into a beloved Georgia Bulldog from his play this season. A name that has been in talks for the Heisman, Stockton has delivered some major plays to lead the Dawgs to an impressive 9-1 record so far this season. However, fans were not so sure of the quarterback before 2025.

When Raiola decommitted in early 2024, fans wondered if Georgia would have the depth at QB to be okay. Not only have they been okay, but one could argue Stockton would still be starting if Raiola stuck with his commitment to Georgia. Stockton's play should be a clear indicator that Georgia can recruit talent. They will always have a "next man up" mentality. Plus, Stockton still has one more year with the Bulldogs.

Ryan Puglisi

People forget about the talent Ryan Puglisi possesses. Similarly to how people forgot about Stockton's talent as a four-star dual threat quarterback last season, Puglisi was a finalist
in the prestigious 2023 Elite 11 quarterback competition. He also won the Gatorade Connecticut Football Player of the Year for the 2023–2024 season in high school as well.

The redshirt freshman is slated to be the next starter after Stockton graduates. At this rate, he too will be a redshirt junior by the time he gets his first chance to start. Even if Curtis sticks with his commitment to Georgia, he might not be able to compete with the fire power Puglisi offers the Bulldogs.

NIL and the Transfer Portal

In Georgia's worst-case scenario, Curtis decommits, Stockton graduates, and Puglisi transfers by 2027. Keep in mind that is also two years away. With the way the Transfer Portal and NIL is today, Georgia could very easily find a star quarterback in the portal.

Georgia has already made the most of the new Transfer Portal rules with their addition of players like Zachariah Branch and Trevor Etienne a year ago. Talented quarterbacks get frustrated by playing for losing programs or not getting playing time annually now. What frustrated quarterback wouldn't want to start at a program like Georgia?

So even though it is looking like Curtis is going to leave Georgia, fans shouldn't panic too much because the Bulldogs will always have someone ready to step up and lead the offense.
