What defines a good player or coach is how they perform on the greatest stage. For Georgia they have had mixed results in the biggest games of the year as they have won two straight SEC Championships but they haven't won a playoff game three years in a row.

There are a lot of people that fans have blamed over the years for Georgia's lack of playoff success, but it's offensive coordinator Mike Bobo who has received the most blame.

Some may argue that he doesn't deserve the hate he receives, but certain data suggests otherwise.

Mike Bobo can't live up to the standard set by Todd Monken at Georgia

Bobo has been Georgia's offensive coordinator for the last three years. While they haven't won a national title during that time, the Bulldogs have still found a lot of success. This includes winning 13 games in 2023 and winning back-to-back SEC titles the last two years.

Georgia's offense however has not been as great as many fans have hoped for, especially in the SEC Championship and CFP games. In fact, Bobo's offense has scored 19 less points per game in these five games compared to Georgia's offense under Todd Monken.

That gap is the difference between great seasons and winning National Championships. Under Monken Georgia was able to win two national titles thanks to his prolific offense led by Stetson Bennett. Bobo's offenses under Carson Beck and Gunner Stockton have still been good, but they haven't been able to reach the same level as Monken's teams in the biggest games.

This will be a trend to monitor this season as Georgia looks to get back on top of the college football world. Obviuosly Georgia's offense needs to play well all season, but they need to perform much better on the biggest stages.

But if Georgia's offense can score a lot more points in the SEC Championship game and CFP, then there is no reason they can't win a National Championship this season and shut all of Bobo's haters up.
