The recruitment for Georgia's No.1 WR may have just taken a drastic turn

Three-star wide receiver Amare Patterson is one of Georgia's top targets in the 2027 recruiting class. He is fresh off a visit to Athens a few weeks ago, and ever since then the Bulldogs have looked like the top team in his recruitment.

And while that may be the case, Patterson still has no intentions of ending his recruitment anytime soon. That isn't abnormal at this point in the recruiting cycle, but the fact that Patterson is making plays like this at recruiting camps is bad news for Georgia.

Georgia will have new competition for top WR

Patterson is only a three-star recruit and ranked just outside the top 400 in the 2027 recruiting class. That however is likely to change very soon if he keeps making plays like the above highlight.

As mentioned, Georgia is thought to be one of his top schools right now if not his No. 1 team, so seeing him make elite plays like this is exciting. But these plays will also excite many other programs who are far more likely to get involved in his recruitment now.

That however doesn't seem to be a problem for Georgia right now. A couple weeks ago they made a huge impression on him during his visit with the help of their latest five-star commit. Patterson has also already scheduled an official visit to Georgia later this summer as well.

The hope now is that Georgia's early lead in this recruitment will pay off in the long run. But it is just a matter of time until more teams get involved in his recruitment, and that presents a lot of obvious troubles for UGA going forward.

Georgia however has been going after Patterson for a long time now, so hopefully their relationship will win out in the end.
