Kirby Smart is undeniably the top Dawg of college football right now, and this season has only further cemented his place atop the head coaching totem pole.

Other than a mid-season loss to Alabama, Smart led the Georgia Bulldogs to a nearly flawless regular season and then to yet another SEC Championship victory.

Now, the Bulldogs are primed for another run in the College Football Playoff, and people are finally tipping their caps in Smart's direction this year.

Todd McShay, a long-time college football analyst, was breaking down the Georgia team that has been as dominant as possible as of late, and had nothing but praise for Smart's work this season.

"This is the best coaching job Kirby Smart has ever done as the coach at Georgia," McShay said. "The recruiting is very good, and there's a lot of young players, but he had to coach up a lot of young players, and he coached up depth.

Kirby Smart has done the unthinkable with UGA

Not only does this team have "a lot of young players," but it is the youngest team Smart has had since taking over the Georgia football program in 2016.

Despite the youth and lack of experience at this level of the game, Smart has been able to lead the team to a 12-1 overall record, a conference title, and a first-round bye in the CFP.

The Bulldogs have dominated on both sides of the ball and are primed to do even more of that in the postseason, playing the winner of No. 6 Ole Miss and No. 11 Tulane in the quarterfinals of the Playoff.

Throughout his time as the Dawgs' head coach, Smart has won a resounding 117 games, four SEC Championships (2017, 2022, 2024, 2025), and two National Championships (2021, 2022). During the 10-year stretch, he has lost just 20 total games, averaging two losses per year.

Smart has done an undeniably magnificent job with Georgia this season, and that includes comparing this year to his National Championship seasons.
