Georgia football's season has unfortunately come to an end in the College Football Playoff quarterfinals to Notre Dame 23-10.

There are a lot of reasons you can point to for why Georgia lost this game, but there are a few plays that stand out as being the main culprits. So here are the top five plays that flipped the game in Notre Dame's favor that Georgia couldn't overcome.

1. Parker Jones interference

If we're going to talk about plays that led Georgia to lose this game, you have to begin with walk on Parker Jones being called for interference during one of the biggest plays of the game. Gunner Stockton connected with Arian Smith for a huge gain with the score still tied 0-0 which was the biggest play of the game up to that point. This play had Georgia in the red zone and knocking on the door of taking an early 7-0 lead.

But Jones, who wasn't even dressed for the game, got in the way of the sideline official which caused a 15-yard penalty to be called on the Bulldogs. This penalty ruined any momentum Georgia had and stalled what was a very promising drive.

Georgia ended up settling for three points to end this drive, but it's impossible to not think the game would have played out much differently had the drive ended in a touchdown.
