Preston Glasco is a recruit that Georgia has shown a lot of interest in over the past few months. Glasco has been committed to UConn since June, but on Tuesday he officially decommitted from the Huskies.
This is a great sign for Georgia because they have made it abundantly clear they want him in their class. Georgia just hosted Glasco on a visit during their week two game against Western Kentucky which shows they at least have a chance with him, but Glasco has a visit upcoming to Alabama that makes winning his recruitment more difficult.

Preston Glasco's upcoming visit to Alabama creates a problem for Georgia
Alabama and South Carolina are the two other schools pushing for Glasco's commitment along with Georgia. So far Georgia is the only school to host him on a game day visit this fall, but that will change this weekend when he visits Alabama when the Tide play South Carolina.
The Gamecocks are pushing for a visit this season as well, but so far they haven't been able to get one on the books.
Georgia should love where they stand with Glasco right now. They were able to get him to visit Athens before he even decommitted from UConn, so that shows he does have interest in Georgia. He however wants to see Alabama in person before making his final decision, and that will be a difficult hurdle for Georgia to overcome.
Glasco is from the state of Georgia so that could be an advantage for UGA. He however still wants to visit Alabama and potentially South Carolina before he makes his final decision, so Georgia will just have to sit around and wait to see how these other trips go.
Preston Glasco would fill a glaring hole in Georgia's 2027 recruiting class
Georgia's 2027 recruiting class currently only has two defensive back commits. Both of those players are safeties though, so Georgia doesn't have a true corner committed to them yet. That is where Glasco could come into play as he would fill that hole and give UGA at least one corner commit in their 2027 class if he picks the Bulldogs.
Glasco isn't the highest ranked recruit in the country. According to 247Sports he is only the No. 879 overall player in the country and the No. 88 corner in the 2027 class. That ranking however may not be too accurate. If Georgia, Alabama and South Carolina all decided they want him in their recruiting class then that probably means he is a solid player. They wouldn't waste their time on a recruit that isn't good, so if they believe he is capable of playing in the SEC then they are probably right.
Glasco will have to make a final decision soon since signing day coming up fast in December. At this point it's impossible to predict who has the edge in his recruitment, but Georgia is right there and has done a good job recruiting him up to this point. Hopefully it will lead to a commitment, but they will have to take down Alabama and South Carolina to make that happen.
