Top Georgia football commit reclassifies to the 2025 class
Georgia football has had a lot of positive recruiting news these last few days. On Sunday the Bulldogs earned a commitment in the 2026 class and also received some positive news from a five-star QB as well.
But that wasn't the only news that came out this weekend on the recruiting trail as one of Georgia's commits in the 2026 class has reclassified to the 2025 class.
4-star CB Dominick Kelly
Dominick Kelly is a four-star corner from Bradenton, FL. According to 247Sports, Kelly is the No. 32 corner in the country and the No. 35 overall player from Florida as well.
Kelly originally committed to Georgia at the end of July and was one of three members in Georgia's 2026 recruiting class. But as of Saturday night, he has now reclassified to the 2025 class and will be offiicially joining the current recruiting class for Georgia.
Kelly's addition to Georgia's 2025 recruiting class now brings its total up to 25 commits. Also, with some movement and decommitments from other programs, Georgia has recently passed Alabama and now has the top recruiting class in the SEC on 247Sports. The Bulldogs are however one spot shy of No. 1 as the Ohio State Buckeyes currently have the top class.
With many big fish still out there for Georgia and a few weeks to go until the early signing period begins, that top spot is still up for grabs. Ohio State is only a few points ahead of Georgia and the Buckeyes also have one more commit, so it is still very realistic Georgia passes the Buckeyes when it's all said and done.
But for now, Kirby Smart and Georgia can celebrate that they have one of the best classes in the country and will be getting Kelly on their team one year sooner than expected.
