Georgia football has made a lot of progress over the last two weekends with many of their top recruiting targets. So much so that UGA is on the verge of flipping a top 100 recruit currently committed to an SEC rival.
One recruit Georgia appeared to be making good progress with was three-star offensive lineman Chancellor Campbell.
According to the 247Sports composite rankings, Campbell is the No. 594 overall player in the country. He also is the No. 86 player from the state of Florida and the No. 50 interior offensive lineman in the 2026 class.
Georgia hosted Campbell on an official visit the first weekend of June, and all reports pointed towards that visit going very well. Going into the visit, everyone knew his recruitment was a battle between UGA and Florida, and after this visit Campbell reported that Georgia and the Gators were “tied” in his recruitment.
But Campbell took his official visit to Florida this past weekend, and Campbell left that visit as an official member of Florida’s recruiting class.
Florida was always the dream for massive OL Chancellor Campbell, and he was able to deliver that news to @coach_bnapier and company to wrap up his official visit Sunday:

Georgia OL target spurns Bulldogs for Gators
The quote from Campbell in the above social media post is very interesting because he shared that he’s always seen himself at Florida. If that were the case, then why was he claiming Georgia and Florida were “tied” in his recruitment just a few days ago?
In reality Georgia was likely never tied with Florida in Campbell’s recruitment, which is unfortunate because Georgia’s staff spent a lot of effort recruiting him.
At the end of the day this loss isn’t the end of the world because Georgia is after many other offensive linemen who are ranked higher than Campbell. But losing to Florida in any capacity is not fun, and this recruitment will officially go down as a loss to the Gators.
