They didn't perform at the NFL Combine so they have no shot at getting drafted. Nonsense. Two Georgia Bulldog favorites possess hidden potential for a savvy NFL GM to steal.
Oscar Delp was unable to do anything at the Combine due to an unknown hairline fracture in his foot. That he played on all season. And averaged 13.1 yards per catch on. Can you say NFL toughness? Cash Jones wasn't invited to the Combine which was a slam to his talent, but let's look at why each has true NFL potential that can't be ignored.
Oscar Delp isn't Bowers-Lite
Delp plays tight end, but he's different than Brock Bowers and was underused at UGA in the last couple of seasons. He has the potential to shine brighter at the next level because he didn't take such a beating in college like Browers did.
He has the size and stats to be a great deal in the third or fourth round. "I'm prepared for all of it. Whatever they want, I'm gonna do it," he said in an interview with Dawgnation.
Cash Jones is cash money for sixth round
Listed as a running back, Jones has far greater potential in the NFL as a wide receiver as his speed is better suited to routes than running into the defensive line. Smart general managers in the NFL can pick up a stalwart contributor by waiting until the fifth or sixth round for Jones. If he has a sold Pro Day later in March, Jones could impress and raise his draft stock.
The first and second rounders like Zachariah Branch and CJ Allen will get a lot of attention at the draft in April, but keep an eye out on Delp and Jones. They can have effective careers at the next level if the right GM pays attention to the substance of their game, not the flash.
