It as been one year since Carson Beck ditched Georgia and transferred to Miami. That decision has worked out well for Beck since he and the Hurricanes will play for a National Championship next week, but Beck's decision is still rubbing some people the wrong way.
Miami however doesn't seem bothered by what they did to Georgia to get Beck because they attempted to do the same with Alabama quarterback Ty Simpson. Simpson declared for the NFL Draft about a week ago, but Miami made him an offer in an attmept to convince him to stay in college and transfer to them.
He however turned them down which is something Beck didn't do.
NEW: Massive NIL offers from other schools couldn't delay Ty Simpson's NFL dreams, he tells @Clowfb🙏

Tennessee, Miami and Ole Miss were offering $4M, and the Hurricanes upped it to $6.5M

Carson Beck could learn from Ty Simpson
Simpson released a statement about why he chose to stay in the NFL Draft, and his statement indirectly took a shot at Beck.
“Everybody would just remember me as the guy who took all this money and went to Miami or Tennessee for his last year. But I was a captain. I put my hand and footprints in the cement at Denny Chimes. I would have lost everything that I built at Alabama,” said Simpson via x.com.
Similarly to Beck, Simpson was Alabama's captain who won a lot of games and made a huge impact on their program. Simpson however wasn't going to let a big NIL offer tarnish his reputation or legacy as he only wants to be remembered for playing at Alabama. Beck's reputation however was ruined the second he went to Miami.
Beck could learn a lesson or two about what it means to stay true to his word. Simpson committed to Alabama, had a great career with them and didn't let a big NIL offer ruin what truly matters. And while Beck probably doesn't care much about this, it is nice to see a player make the right choice for once.
