Vegas oddsmakers pump even more CFP hope into Georgia fans

Georgia is three years removed from their last National Championship. In reality that really isn’t that long, but every season that goes by without another title feels like a missed opportunity. So while there are plenty of other goals each season, this fall Georgia’s man focus is winning their third national title under Kirby Smart.

They first have to qualify for the playoff if they are going to accomplish that, but thankfully Vegas oddsmakers believe they should have no issue in making the playoff.

Vegas oddsmakers are confident Georgia will make the College Football Playoff

FanDuel Sportsbook released their odds for Georgia to either make or miss the playoff earlier this week. They give Georgia -220 odds to make the playoff which equates to a roughly 69 percent chance of making it in. On the flip side, they give Georgia +170 odds to miss the playoff which is roughly a 37 percent chance.

So what does this mean? This means that Georgia has a very good chance at making the playoff for what would be the third year in a row. That however is the bare minimum at Georgia as just making the playoff isn’t good enough. That is especially the case after the Bulldogs have gone winless in their last two trips to the playoff.

FanDuel also released these same odds for every other team in the SEC as well. Texas is the only other team with odds that indicate they are more likely to make the playoff then miss it. So that means other SEC contenders like LSU, Alabama, Ole Miss and Texas A&M may not find themselves in the playoff this year.

Georgia still faces a tough path to get to the playoff as their schedule is one of the hardest in the country. But Kirby Smart once again will have one of the best rosters in the nation, so the minimum expectation should be to get into the playoff. If they don’t then this season will go down as a failure.
