Georgia football is nearly a touchdown favorite over Ole Miss for their matchup at the Sugar Bowl in the College Football Playoff. FanDuel Sportsbook currently has the Bulldogs favored by 6.5 points, which is what the line originally opened at after Ole Miss beat Tulane in the first round of the CFP.
6.5 points feels like a very fair spread for this matchup considering Georgia won by eight points in the first meeting. But even if this seems like a good spread, On3's Josh Pate shared that FanDuel reported that Georgia is the most bet team to cover the spread out of all four CFP quarterfinal games.
Per @FDSportsbook sources UGA -6.5 is their most popular bet side thus far for CFP quarterfinals

Confidence is growing fast in Georgia against Ole Miss
The public is clearly very high on Georgia entering this matchup, and they have every reason to be. Not only did Georgia already beat Ole Miss by more than 6.5 points already this season, but the Bulldogs have only gotten better since that game. Their defense has greatly improved since this matchup and Georgia's offense has continued to play at a very high level as well.
Ole Miss will also be without Lane Kiffin as well. That didn't matter when they played Tulane earlier in the playoff, but Georgia will be their first real opponent since Kiffin left the Rebels to become the new head coach at LSU.
Add all of this together and the public is very confident Georgia will not only win this game but cover the 6.5 point spread. That however shouldn't matter all that much because the only thing that truly matters is winning the game. As long as Georgia wins by one point then this game will be a success, but it's hard to deny that winning by a comfortable margin would be really nice.
Kickoff between Georgia and Ole Miss is scheduled for 8:00 pm EST on Jan. 1.
