It all comes down to this. Georgia and Oregon have been battling for the No. 1 quarterback in the 2026 recruiting class Jared Curtis, and his commitment date has finally arrived.
Curtis was originally committed to UGA throughout most of 2024, but he decided to decommit from the Bulldogs and reopen his recruitment. That typically would be a bad a sign for Georgia as it is very difficult to land a commitment from the same player for a second time, but that has not been the case with Curtis.
Curtis showed interest in about five schools after he decommitted from Georgia, and that included the Bulldogs. But Curtis quickly realized that he was only interested in two schools, so he narrowed his recruitment down to the Bulldogs and Oregon Ducks.
These two teams have given Curtis a lot to think about, and both schools have been the favorite to land him at one point throughout the last couple months. But it is still unknown who he is leaning towards even with his commitment date arriving.
So when can Georgia fans expect a final decision from Curtis?
Jared Curtis's commitment time
Curtis will announce his commitment at 5:30 pm EST on Monday, May 5 at an assembly at his high school. This assembly will be live streamed for all fans to watch, but the link to that stream has not been shared yet. Be sure to check social media right before 5:30 where the link to that stream will be shared.
May 5 has a chance to go down as one of Georgia's greatest recruiting wins in quite some time. It isn't often that Georgia lands the best quarterback in the country, but that all can change later this evening. At the same time however, Curtis has a chance to break the hearts of UGA fans if he does pick the Ducks.
Thankfully the college football world only has a few more hours to wait until a final decision from Curtis is shared.
