Georgia basketball is fresh off a remarkable season. They set a program record for regular season wins while also making the NCAA Tournament for the second year in a row. Unfortunately they were blown out of the first round of the Big Dance, but overall the previous year was largely a massive success.
Mike White and his staff however have a lot of work cut out for them. The Transfer Portal is officially open and if Georgia is going to get back to the NCAA Tournament again next year they need to win the portal this offseason.
But with the portal now open, this Transfer Portal tracker will be updated with all the new roster moves that impact Georgia basketball. Here is what is known as of now.
Georgia player departing for the Transfer Portal
Jeremiah Wilkinson
Wilkinson came to Georgia last offseason after starting his career at Cal. He immediately became Georgia's best player this season as he led the team in scoring with 17.4 points per game.
His departure will be difficult to overcome, but it will be interesting to see where he ends up as a lot of big name schools will be coming after him.
Somto Cyril
The next biggest loss for Georgia to the portal is starting center Somto Cyril. He just wrapped up his second season at Georgia where he started all but one game and was a force down low.
He finished the season averaging 9.3 points and 5.4 rebounds per game. Just like Wilkinson, he is one of the top players in the portal at his position who will more than likely end up playing for a really good school next season.
Jacob Wilkins
Jacob Wilkins was a rising start this year for Georgia. It's hard to know what any true freshman will give a team in their first season in college, but he showed that his potential is through the roof after averaging 4.9 points and 1.8 rebounds per game.
His departure is a little more intriguing because the big name schools that will be after Wilkinson and Cyril will more than likely won't be interested in him. But he has decided that his time at Georgia is up which is a bit unfortunate to see.
Jordan Ross
Jordan Ross was the starting point guard for Georgia for most of the season. He however never really broke through like many expected during his one season in Athens.
He did have a solid season as he averaged 6.7 points, 2.3 assists and 2.5 rebounds per game. Georgia however should be able to find a similar player to him out of the portal if not someone a little better.
Dylan James
Dylan James has been at Georgia for all three years of his college career, but he has opted to enter his name into the portal too. This is ater a season where he averaged 4.5 points and 3.8 rebounds per game.
James' production has stayed relatively stagnant for all three years of his career. He is hoping to find a new school now where he will be able to thrive more in his final season of college basketball, but similarly to Ross he is someone that Georgia should be able to replace just fine.
Jackson McVey
Jackson McVey was the second Georgia center to enter his name into the Transfer Portal. This was his first season in Athens which ended up being a redshirt year as he did not see the court in any game.
With Cyril's departure though he could've seen a good amount of playing time next season, but Georgia now multiple openings they need to fill down low.
Players Georgia landed out of the Transfer Portal
The Transfer Portal opened on April 7 and Georgia has not added any transfers yet.
