Georgia football once again found a way to do what they always do and beat the Florida Gators on Saturday. It wasn't pretty by any means, but the Bulldogs emerged victorious on a night when they didn't play their best game which is a sign of how great this team can be.
A lot of stats stand out from this game, but one thing in particular has occurred over the last four years that is very strange. Georgia won on Saturday by a 24-20 final score, and some fans recognized how familiar that score looked. And after a little digging people realized that Florida somehow has scored exactly 20 points in each of the last four matchups against Georgia.

Unreal trend in recent Georgia vs Florida matchups is impossible to explain
20 points is a very normal amount to score in football. All it takes is two touchdowns and two fields goals and a team will end with 20 points. So this likely is one of the most common scores to end with in football.
But it is absolutely wild and impossible to explain how Florida has finished with exactly 20 points four years in a row against Georgia.
At the end of the day though this doesn't really matter. The one thing however that does matter is that Georgia has won all four of these games. But it is significant that Georgia has held the Gators to just 20 points because UGA's offense is typically good enough to score more points than that. So if Georgia's defense can hold every opponent to 20 points there is a good chance UGA will win most games they play.
So while this may just seem like a random stat, it is very signficiant because it shows just how dominant Georgia has been over Florida over the last few years. And hopefully that trend continues next season with Florida scoring 20 points for the fifth year in a row that hopefully will result in yet another win for Georgia.
