There are a lot of Bulldogs that have a big decision to make after Georgia's loss to Ole Miss. Some will have to decide if they want to enter the Transfer Portal and leave the program while others will have to choose between declaring for the NFL Draft or returning to Georgia for another season.
Wide receiver Zachariah Branch is potentially the Bulldog with the biggest NFL Draft decision. He still has one more year of eligibility remaining, but after the year he had there will be many NFL teams eager to draft him.
Branch was asked after the Sugar Bowl if he was going to leave for the NFL or return to Georgia, but he was not ready to talk about that just yet.
“I’m not even trying to think about that, man,” Branch said via ugafootballlive.com. “I don’t know what my decision is going to be, but definitely just blessed for the opportunity. The opportunity they gave me to be on this team, have a brotherhood with everybody. Just the love from the city of Athens as well and everybody in Georgia. So very grateful for this whole experience.”
Star Georgia WR uncertain of his future in Athens
Branch just put the finishing touches on one of the best seasons in Georgia football history. He racked up 81 receptions for 811 yards and six touchdowns this year, but it's his 81 catches that will stand the test of time. This total set the record for the most receptions in a single season in Georgia history, so that shows just how great of a year he had.
The good news is that there is no chance Branch will enter the portal. He clearly enjoyed his one season at Georgia so much that playing for another college likely isn't even on his mind, but the same can't be said for the NFL.
In all honesty it would be very surprising if he said no to the NFL and came back for one more season. But until he makes that decision there is always a chance he comes back to Athens with some unfinished business on his mind.
