Zachariah Branch just wrapped up one of the best seasons from a wide receiver in Georgia football history. Branch set the record for the most receptions in a single season at Georgia, and that alone will cement his legacy in Athens forever.
But NFL scouts aren't so sure that feat is relevant. They are not convinced that Branch is an all around receiver like everyone at Georgia thinks he is, and that is because of how much he was involved in the screeen game.
Zachariah Branch believes he is an all around WR
About 50 percent of Branch's production at Georgia came from screen passes. Screens are an important part of any offense, and Branch proved at Georgia that he can thrive in any offense in that role. But scouts have questioned how effective he can be when running other routes.
Branch knows that this red flag has been put on him, and he responded to it at the NFL Combine.

Branch believes that he has a lot more to his game then being a threat in the screen game. Yes he knows that this is where he thrives, but Branch pointed out that he is also a deep threat.
Branch didn't show off his ability to take the top of a defense early in the season, but in the second half of last season he had plenty of chances to haul in deep balls. Branch and Gunner Stockton even connected on a handful as well. So even though the bulk of his production came from screens, Branch proved he is capable of much more than that.
There is no problem with being a "screen merchant." Screens are a huge part of every offense in the NFL, and any team could use his big play ability in that facet. But teams are questioning if Branch can be more than that, but he believes that he has already shown that he is.
