Georgia football’s versatile Isaiah McKenzie is on the 2015 Paul Hornung Award Watch List. The Award annually recognizes college football most versatile player.
The diminutive McKenzie’s appearance on the list is no surprise. As a freshman last season, McKenzie tied the Georgia record for punt returns for a touchdown with two, returned a kickoff for a touchdown, rushed seven times for 78 yards and caught six passes for 67 yards.

The Paul Hornung Award, now in its sixth season, is given annually to the most versatile player in major college football by the Louisville Sports Commission and football legend and Louisville native Paul Hornung, the Golden Boy. The winner and his family will be honored at the annual Paul Hornung Award Banquet presented by KentuckyOne Health, to be held at the Galt House Hotel in downtown Louisville in February 2016.
Granting The Human Joy Stick his spot on the list was a panel of experts considering a combination of 2014 statistics, career performance, sports information director recommendations and expectations heading into the 2015 season.
The Miami, Florida, native impacted the Georgia football team immediately last year. He played in 12 games, and became the first Bulldog and the twelfth player in NCAA history to score on a kickoff and punt return in the same game. After garnering many weekly awards, he made Phil Steele’s All-SEC Third Team as a punt returner
Six of the Forty-four college football players named to the list are from the SEC.
