Georgia Football: 2020 recruiting ready to explode with talent
Georgia footballs 2020 recruiting has seemed to have slowed down a bit, but it’s actually the complete opposite.
Despite Georgia football losing Jamil Burroughs earlier this month, the Dawgs shouldn’t have any worries when it comes to the 2020 class.
According to 247Sports composite rankings, the Dawgs have the No. 5 overall and the No. 3 SEC 2020 class. Georgia averages 93.83 per the commitment.
Currently, the Dawgs have 16 members in its group including one quarterback, one running back, three wideouts, five offensive linemen, three defensive tackles, one linebacker, one cornerback and one kicker.
Georgia still wants to add one more running back, two tight ends for sure.
As for the other spots, in my opinion, it will likely go to secondary and defensive linemen. The biggest area for the Dawgs to nail in this 2020 group is that defensive line.
Right now, Georgia has three defensive tackles committed. Jalen Carter is a 6-4 301 pound player from Apopka, Fla., who ranks as the No. 58 overall, No. 6 DT, and the No. 11 prospect in Florida. He committed to the Dawgs on May 20.
Georgia’s also got Warren Brinson from IMG Academy in Bradenton, Fla. who is a 4-star that stands at 6-4.5 and 299 pounds. He ranks as the No. 23 DT and the No. 45 prospect in the Sunshine State and committed to the Dawgs on June 1.
The final member is Nazir Stackhouse who is the oldest member of the 2020 class as he committed way back on Dec. 2, 2017. He is a 6-3.5 306-pound tackle from Columbia High in Decatur, Georgia. Stackhouse ranks as the No. 24 DT and the No. 26 prospect in the Peach State.
Georgia could likely add one to two more defensive linemen for the 2020 group. Those two guys could very well be Jordan Burch out of South Carolina and Zykevious Walker from Georgia.
We all know the Dawgs are eyeing 5-star cornerback Kelee Ringo, and that situation is still in good shape.
Georgia’s also still hot on 5-star Zach Evans, and he could seal the deal at the Notre Dame game. He could be one of many to pledge to the Dawgs that weekend.
The Dawgs had its first recruiting weekend against Murray State, and it wasn’t the biggest one, but the one that will be huge is Notre Dame.
This weekend is the one that I think Georgia finalizes its class and gets all the silent commitments it needs. I also feel like one or two of these guys could pull the trigger after that game, especially if the Dawgs win big.
The Notre Dame weekend is when this class could explode and show just how excellent the staff is. If Georgia blows out the Irish, I bet there will be a few 2020 and maybe 2021 pledges that happen.
Early Signing Day will be here before we know it and the Dawgs will roll out the red carpet in two weeks for the massive amount of recruits coming.
Georgia’s 2020 class may only have select room left, but by the end of the Notre Dame weekend, it’ll be one stacked class, Dawg nation might have to wait till December to find out just how stacked it will be.
Like the last four classes, this one will blow the socks off Dawg nation, and make folks say wow. It could also break some records, but we won’t jinx Georgia’s momentum it holds right now.
