Georgia football starting quarterback Stetson Bennett has had his fair share of love and hate, but Aaron Murray dropped a bomb that should excite the entire fanbase.

What Bennett did in 2021 would be hard to top, but the former Georgia quarterback predicts that the Mailman will have an even better super senior year.

There are still people out there that will never give Bennett the credit he deserves, but getting an endorsement from someone like Murray is impressive.

Murray was one of the winningest quarterbacks at Georgia and was a fan favorite during his four years of college. He is outspoken and not afraid to give his opinion, and this time it’s bold enough to make fans perk up their heads.

Georgia football starting quarterback Stetson Bennett will have a better season than his 2021 one.

He gave five reasons why Bennett will have a better season than he did in 2021. Murray said being the CFP Championship MVP is a big reason — experience. That title was his first reason why Bennett will thrive in 2022. His experience is extremely valuable and helpful in Georgia’s hunt to repeat a national championship.

His next reason was having more receiver talent than he did in 2021. Having Ladd McConkey another year older and AD Mitchell settled into the program only means Bennett will have better options to throw the ball to this year.

The chemistry between the receivers and Bennett will be even better this year, which truly matters in production.

Murray’s included the Georgia tight end room with his second reason. Brock Bowers, Arik Gilbert and Darnell Washington make up three-fourths of the country’s best tight end room and are all options for Bennett to utilize on the offense. Bowers led the Dawgs in receiving yards in 2021, and it wouldn’t be surprising to see him be toward the top this year too.

The next reason is his running ability. Georgia used Bennett’s legs a few times, but now that the offensive staff knows he can make plays with them, he could use his speed even more this season. The Dawgs need to let him use those wheels because it’s truly a game-changer for the quarterback and Georgia’s offense.

Murray’s fourth reason is how this season marks Bennett’s first time as the starting quarterback. He doesn’t have to fight for his starting role. Instead, he is the guy and Georgia can build around him from the start of preparations. Bennett can take that chemistry with his offense to the next level.

Not to mention this entire team already loves the Mailman, and with a full offseason as the starting quarterback — Bennett is using that to his advantage. He is a leader who can show it, as Bennett already earned his job and doesn’t have to beat the other quarterbacks. Bennett has that time to gain the team’s trust, which matters when a team is trying to do something great again.

Murray’s last reason is how accurate Bennett is throwing the ball. Last season he completed 65% of his passes, recording 29 touchdowns and seven interceptions. Georgia can trust him to air it out more this year because he won’t make those silly mistakes. That work allows him to know when to push for a play and when to throw it away — a valuable lesson he learned the hard way.

Bennett has the chance to prove all of his doubters wrong in 2022, and having Murray behind him is an excellent sign that he has done the necessary work. Georgia football can trust him to run the offense and do it successfully. Bennett is the guy who delivered the first national championship in 41 years. Why not make it a repeat? It’s an even taller task, but if anyone is up for it — Bennett is that guy.
