Last night, another College Football Playoff ranking dropped, and Georgia football remains the top team. The Dawgs handled their business by beating Kentucky 16-6, and that win helped them stay No.1.

Other teams like Tennessee had to win to keep their hopes alive, and instead, they fell to an unranked South Carolina team. The drama for the committee was probably at an all-time high this season after this past weekend of football, but Georgia wasn’t.

Instead, the Dawgs popped their popcorn after beating Kentucky and watched the chaos ensue. Ohio State struggled with Maryland. Michigan struggled with Illinois. Tennessee fell, and USC almost lost to UCLA. On the other hand, Georgia had its moments against Kentucky, but it never felt like the game was out of hand.

There was no drama for the Dawgs, which is the best feeling because it shows that what head coach Kirby Smart is doing in Athens is good for the soul.

Georgia football sailed to another No.1 ranking on the College Football Playoff ranking.

Saying “doing what Tennessee couldn’t” isn’t a dig but the truth. The Vols had a chance to make it into the playoffs, but instead, the Gamecocks decided to end that dream. It was unfortunate that Hendon Hooker got hurt — no one wanted to see that happen because he is why college football is great. However, it wasn’t terrible seeing the Vols get taken down another notch by a team Georgia beat by 41 points.

Right now, the Dawgs just need to win, and the rest will follow suit. If Georgia keeps finding ways to win, it’ll be in the playoffs and the top seed. Who the Dawgs will play is still slightly unknown, but doesn’t it feel good knowing Georgia has done more than enough to secure a spot in the playoffs?

Georgia will take it one week at a time and then focus on who it’ll play in the playoff. There are still so many scenarios that could happen in the next two weeks, but the best part is that Georgia has no drama attached. The Dawgs have Georgia Tech on Saturday and LSU in the SEC Championship Game the following week. Until then, the Dawgs will keep munching on their popcorn and watch the chaos unfold until they know who they’ll take on in the semifinals.
