4 prospects Georgia must prioritize after landing 5-star QB Jared Curtis

Georgia would be wise to start applying even more pressure on these four recruits.

Georgia football made the biggest splash in the recruiting trail yet this cycle as they earned a commitment from five-star quarterback Jared Curtis Monday evening.

It's pretty obvious why this commitment is so massive because Curtis is the No. 1 quarterback in the 2026 recruiting class, but this commitment is big for many other reasons. One of those reasons is the increased likelihood that Georgia will add more talent in the near future to pair with Curtis. So Kirby Smart and his staff would be wise to take advantage of this momentum and aggressively pursue as many top recruits as possible.

Here are four options for Georgia that they should immediately prioritize and apply a little more pressure on.

1. 5-star OT Jackson Cantwell

Every quarterback needs an elite offensive line, without one they will be very limited in what they can do on offense. So that is the most important thing for Georgia to focus on right now, so why not shoot for the stars and target the No. 1 player in the country?

That player is offensive tackle Jackson Cantwell, and it turns out Georgia may not have to shoot for the stars if they want to land him. Cantwell is set to announce his commitment on May 13, which comes a few days after his final visit to Athens on May 10. That face is why On3's Steve Wiltfong believes he will be a Bulldog when he announces his decision next week.

So it may just be a matter of time until Georgia adds the best player in the country to help protect Curtis.

2. 5-star RB Savion Hiter

Another thing that pairs well with an elite quarterback is an elite running back, and five-star running back Savion Hiter fits that description. This recruitment however will be much more difficult to win as it appears Hiter has other schools he may prefer at this time over Georgia such as Ohio State, Michigan and Tennessee.

But the Bulldogs aren't giving up and have been in to visit Hiter in person recently. And now that Curtis is officially a Bulldog, that might make Hiter that much more interested in joining him in Athens.

3. 5-star TE Mark Bowman

Every Georgia fan remembers how much fun it was to have Brock Bowers in Athens not that long ago. An excellent tight end can really help a quarterback excel and help them out of sticky situations when the offense is struggling. That is exactly what Bowers did at Georgia, and that is something five-star tight end Mark Bowman can do as well.

Georgia is one of his top schools with some viewing them as the current leader. So this commitment from Curtis could be exactly what Georgia needs to land Bowman in the near future.

4. 5-star LB Tyler Atkinson

Defense is what has defined Georgia's success under Smart, so why not target one of the top defenders in the country as well. Five-star Tyler Atkinson is from the Peach State and is someone pretty much every recruiting expert believes will eventually be a Bulldog.

So hopefully Smart and his staff are able to hold on, because Atkinson would be the perfect addition to Georgia's defense for years to come.
