Kadin Fife is a name that Georgia fans have quickly learned over the last month. The four-star defensive lineman was once committed to Tennessee, but two weeks after he officially visited Georgia in June he chose to decommit from the Vols.
This got Georgia fans very excited as it felt like they had a very real chance of eventually adding him to their recruiting class. The only school they thought Georgia had to worry about was Ole Miss who was the only other school to host him on a visit this summer, but out of absolutely nowhere Louisville earned his commitment on Tuesday.

Kaidn Fife has some explaining to do after committing to Louisville
This commitment makes no sense. Let's eliminate the fact that Louisville doesn't even compare to Georgia as a program, but no one had any clue that they were even in the running for his commitment.
Ole Miss, Tennessee and Georgia were the only schools to host Fife on an official visit this summer. So when Fife decommitted from Tennessee the safe assumption was that he would flip to either the Rebels or Bulldogs. But he had other plans in mind as he decided to shock everyone by choosing Louisville instead.
Who knows what led him to make this decision, but this will leave Kirby Smart extremely confused. He did everything right in this recruitment but still fell short to a school that no one even knew cared about him likely because they offered a lot of NIL money.
Regardless of what the real reason is, Georgia just lost yet another recruitment and is running out of time in their quest to get back inside the top 10 of the recruiting rankings.
Kadin Fife had everyone at Georgia fooled
Fife fooled everyone. Not only did he fool Georgia fans when he committed to Louisville, but he also tricked recruiting insiders as well.
About a week ago an official prediction came in on 247Sports for Fife to commit to Georgia. This prediction was logged by a Georgia insider, so this was the biggest sign of all that the Bulldogs were confident in their chances to land Fife.
On top of this insider being fooled, current quarterback commit Colton Nussmeier was confident Fife would choose Georgia as well. Nussmeier officially visited Georgia the same weekend that Fife did, so it's fair to assume that they spoke at some point during their trips. And something must've been said in those conversations that led him to believe that Fife would commit to Georgia, but that ended up not being true.
Georgia however currently has four defensive linemen already committed to their 2027 recruiting class, so this loss really isn't the end of the world. Fife however would've been Georgia's highest ranked defensive line commit though, so in that sense this loss does sting.
No one should lose any sleep over this loss though, but at the end of the day it is a bit strange how all of this unfolded.
