Georgia entered this week with the No. 8 recruiting class in the country. That is not where Kirby Smart wants to end up at the end of the 2027 recruiting cycle, but for the end of April it is just fine.
Unfortunately Georgia was just dealt a major blow as they lost their commitment from four-star defensive back Jerry Outhouse on Wednesday.

4-star Jerry Outhouse decommits from Georgia
Outhouse was one of Georgia's top commits in their 2027 class. He is a top 100 player in the country according to 247Sports composite rankings, so that fact alone is why Georgia was pumped to receive his commitment at the beginning of March.
Outhouse however has already decided that Georgia isn't the place for him less than two months later. Seeing a player decommit this fast is very shocking, but it is especially worse since he just took another trip to Athens a few weeks ago. This made it seem like his commitment was secure, but that was obviously not the case.
This news dropped Georgia's class one spot to No. 9 in the recruiting rankings which still isn't that bad, but they do trail rival Florida by two spots which is unacceptable. Thankfully Georgia has a chance to respond on April 30 as they were predicted to earn a commitment from five-star tight end Jaxon Dollar.
Regardless of if Georgia lands Dollar or not, losing Outhouse is very difficult. He has all the tools that Smart is looking for in a defensive back, so seeing him move on is not ideal.
As mentioned though it is only April so there is no reason for anyone to panic. Georgia has plenty of time to find a replacement for Outhouse while improving their recruiting class elsewhere. So while Georgia sits at No. 9 in the country right now, they more than likely will finish much higher than that when it's all said and done.
