The Transfer Portal has started to become a crucial key to success in college football. Although Georgia lays claim to the second youngest team in the SEC, the Bulldogs will need to make some key additions in the portal.

Five key positions in particular will need some new additions in 2026 if Georgia is going to contend for another SEC Championship.

1. Wide receiver

In last year's Transfer Portal window, Georgia got exactly what they needed in Zachariah Branch and Noah Thomas. The year before that they got Colbie Young. Now, all three of those guys could potentially be moving on to the NFL in 2026.

Georgia must target some new weapons for Gunner Stockton to repeat his success next season. Although Georgia has young talent in guys like Sacovie White-Helton and Tayln Taylor upcoming, the Bulldogs could still use some veteran help heading into next season.

2. Quarterback

This may come as a shock to Georgia fans, but the Bulldogs need to start looking for another quarterback to add to the fold. Stockton only has one more year of eligibility, and after him all they really have is Ryan Puglisi. That is based on the assumption that Puglisi will wait another full season to start.

So the Bulldogs should start looking for a young freshman in the portal looking to transfer to a prestigious program and is also willing to wait for his turn to start.

3. Linebacker

CJ Allen has been the center of this Georgia defense in 2025. Now that he is expected to enter the NFL Draft, Georgia will need to start searching for help.

Chris Cole and Raylen Wilson are expected to fill in Allen's shoes perfectly along with Justin Williams and crew. However, Kirby Smart and Glenn Schumann like to rotate linebackers frequently. For that to continue to happen, Georgia will need at least one or two linebackers from the portal.

4. Safety

Georgia has been loaded with safety talent the past few seasons as guys like Malaki Starks and Javon Bullard have been critical to the Bulldogs' success. Now that KJ Bolden and Joenel Aguero are coming up on their junior year, they'll be the next ones to enter that NFL fold.

Georgia, like the quarterback position, will need to look to fill in those holes with some younger guys willing to wait their turn.

5. Running back

Although he did not make a splash in 2025, Josh McCray has been a major help to this Georgia offense. His presence as a power back has helped Georgia in goal line and fourth-and-short plays.

Cash Jones will also be leaving at the conclusion of the 2025 season, leaving a hole for Georgia to fill at the third down back position. Georgia will also need to start exploring options for an all-around running back that can do a little bit of everything in 2026.
