Donte Wright is a five-star defensive back who had been committed to Georgia since last summer. The last few months however have not been great in this recruitment as he has been showing a lot of love to a few other schools.
The school that was receiving the most attention was Oregon who was predicted to steal him from Georgia at the beginning of March. So when Wright announced he was flipping his commitment many assumed it would was Oregon that was taking him, but that was not the case.
Out of absolute nowhere Wright decided that Miami was the school for him as he flipped his commitment to the Hurricanes on Saturday.

Kirby Smart left stunned after 5-star Donte Wright flipped his commitment to Miami
Wright is as good as a defensive back prospect can get. Not only is he a five-star recruit, but he is the No. 2 corner in the country as well as a top 10 player in the entire 2027 recruiting class as well. These types of players don't just grow on trees, so losing his commitment is horrific for Georgia.
The good news (if there is any) is that Kirby Smart likely saw this coming for a long time. As mentioned, he was predicted to flip to Oregon two months ago, but Smart likely felt him slipping away long before that. So he has had plenty of time to come up with a backup plan that he can start acting on now.
It can't go unsaid how disappointing this must be for Oregon fans though. For two months they thought they were going to steal Wright from Georgia, so to find out he is going elsewhere must be tough to swallow.
But losing Wright's commitment is tough for Georgia to swallow as well. It's impossible to not feel disappointed by this news, but all Smart and his staff can do now is push forward and try to find some recruits that actually want to play at Georgia.
