Nobody saw this coming... While there have been rumors and rumblings about five-star Georgia commit Donte Wright flipping to another team, he now has some interest in another school closer to home. Yes, the Long Beach native is apparently viewing the UCLA Bruins in a different light now that Bob Chesney has taken over the Bruins. UCLA could be in the mix to flip Wright like Miami or Oregon.
Wright relayed to Rivals' Greg Biggins that "for the first time, I'm seeing UCLA as a real option for me."

While Wright has been linked to Miami, Oregon is the one program to really watch trying to flip him. This would be so frustrating for Kirby Smart and his staff to lose a player who has been Committed to the G for nearly a year now to a former top assistant of his in Dan Lanning. Truth be told, Miami and Oregon are power players in recruiting, so be that as it may. But UCLA still being in the mix is tough.
If there is any positive news to come out of this, it is that Wright did make the trip to Athens for G-Day.
Donte Wright may be setting the Georgia Bulldogs up for disappointment
According to the 247Sports Composite, Wright is the No. 1 player from California, the No. 2 cornerback in his class, and the No. 9 overall player nationally. He has 23 official offers, but is taking four other official visits besides to Georgia. He will be at UCLA first on May 15, followed by UGA on May 29. He will go to Miami on June 5, Michigan on June 12, and Oregon on June 19. This is telling...
UCLA getting the first official visit out of him may be about seeing if he could have a place playing closer to home. While Michigan seems like a distant contender to get him, Miami is still very much in this, as is Georgia and Oregon. With the Ducks getting the fifth and final visit from him, there is a strong possibility he may flip to Oregon in the 11th hour and burn the Bulldogs. Be prepared for that.
Ultimately, the Bruins forcing their way into the conversation for a high-end local product like Wright is good for UCLA, and bad for Georgia. If and when UCLA does get its ducks in a row, it could stop losing blue-chip talent in-state to the Dawgs and the Ducks. USC will always be a factor for Southern California high school stars because of their rich history. If UCLA is a factor, goodbye, honey hole...
Wright may end up holding true to his commitment, but more confusion into the equation is not good.
