Donte Wright is a five-star defensive back who has been committed to Georgia since last summer. Unfortunately his commitment is anything but secure as he has already been predicted to flip to Oregon.

Wright hasn't flipped his commitment yet, but for the past few weeks it has felt like just a matter of time until he does. That however may no longer be the case as he is making a surprise visit to Athens this weekend with his family to watch Georgia's annual G-Day on Saturday.

Donte Wright gives Georgia new hope after being predicted to flip to Oregon

It's difficult to get a good read on Wright right now. Those predictions in Oregon's favor make it seem like he isn't really a Georgia commit anymore, but an update like this breathes new life into UGA's chances.

If he was actually ready to decommit from Georgia and flip to Oregon then why would he make this visit to Athens? And this isn't just any visit, he reportedly is bringing his entire family with him and will be in town all weekend. That doesn't sound like something a recruit would do if they're about to ditch a program for another school.

Until those predictions go away though this is still a recruitment that favors Oregon. But Georgia won't be giving up anytime soon as Smart will do whatever it takes to keep him in their class. This includes having other Georgia commits build a stronger bond with him and try to convince him to stick with UGA as well.

Only time will tell with Wright, and if he continues to stick with Georgia his commitment is one everyone will have to worry about until signing day. But things weren't going Georgia's way for awhile now, so a positive update like this is definitely a welcomed sight.
