Five-star Georgia quarterback commit Jared Curtis shared earlier this month that he plans to attend every home Georgia football game this season. That announcement from Curtis was massive for two reasons.
The first reason being that it confirms there is no chance he ever decommits from Georgia throughout the rest of the year. This announcement however is even more important because Curtis now can put on his recruiting hat at every game and do his best to help recruit any recruiting target to Georgia who is also visiting.
While Curtis will have many recruits he can speak to during Georgia's season opener against Marshall this weekend, running back Jae Lamar is potentially the most important player for him to get in contact with.
Jared Curtis needs to convince Jae Lamar to remain a Bulldog
Lamar should be a very familiar name to Georgia fans because he is actually a UGA commit. Lamar officially announced his commitment to Georgia on June 25, and to this day he is still the only running back committed to Georgia's 2026 recruiting class.
However, the past few weeks have been a cause for concern in Lamar's recruitment because he shared that he plans to visit other schools throughout the season. Auburn, Florida State and Miami (FL) were the three teams mentioned as likely schools to host him this season. In fact, Florida State was expecting to host Lamar this weekend when they play Alabama, but Lamar cancelled that visit a few days ago to attend Georgia's game instead.
While that was big news for Georgia, it is still concerning that he is thinking about visiting a few other schools. No other visits are publiclly on the books yet, but that could happen any day now.
So Curtis's job this weekend is quite clear. He needs to be in Lamar's ear all weekend to try and convince him to be 100 percent locked in with Georgia and end his discussions with any other programs.
