As it stands today, Georgia is very secure in their future at quarterback. This season will be Gunner Stockton’s last year in Athens, but all four of his backups had great moments during spring ball this offseason.

On top of that, the Bulldogs will welcome four-star Colton Nussmeier next year as their incoming QB in the 2027 class. After Nussmeier’s arrival though is when things get really fun because Georgia already has Jayden Wade committed who is the No. 1 quarterback in the 2028 class.

It will still be a couple years before Wade arrives on campus, but a new video from a summer workout was posted online this week showing the elite ball placement he already possesses.

Jayden Wade is Georgia’s future superstar

Wade is only entering his junior season of high school, so the fact that he already can place the ball this well is astounding. Sure it is just an offseason workout, but it’s easy to see why he is the No. 1 quarterback in the country with how smooth the ball pops out of his hand.

Georgia is going to have a tough time holding onto his commitment because a few other schools are already attempting to flip him, but assuming he sticks with UGA he will be the future at quarterback for Georgia for many years to come.

After Stockton leaves after this season Georgia will have a new quarterback for the 2027 season. That player will likely be the starter for one, maybe two years, then after that it will be Wade’s time to shine.

Depending on when he is named the starter and how he develops, Georgia should get to enjoy having him run the offense for at least two years if not three. And knowing how great Georgia’s defenses always are, UGA will have a great chance to win multiple championships behind Wade.

Jayden Wade’s commitment is giving Georgia some recruiting issues that no one should actually be worried about

Wade has been committed to Georgia since the end of 2025. While it obviously is really nice already having his commitment, that gave Kirby Smart some issues finding a quarterback commit in the 2027 class.

Georgia eventually got Nussmeier to commit, but that came after multiple players chose other schools over them. It’s not hard to blame them for that though because competing against Wade for a starting job is no easy task.

This sentiment will remain true in the 2029 recruiting class as well because those quarterbacks won’t want to sit behind Wade at Georgia their entire career. In fact, players are already avoiding Georgia as the No. 1 QB in the 2029 class, who is from the state of Georgia, already committed to Miami.

As long as Wade remains committed to Georgia then none of this actually matters. He is the Bulldogs’ future, so as long as he sticks with Georgia it doesn’t matter what happens in the recruiting classes around him.

Georgia hasn’t had the best of luck when it comes to holding onto the commitments of elite quarterbacks (we’re looking at you Jared Curtis), but Wade could be the player who changes that trend and brings multiple championships to Georgia.
