Jayden Wade has been the No. 1 quarterback in the country ever since he committed to Georgia back in November. The only thing that truly matters at this point is if Wade remains committed to Georgia, but fans would love to see him remain the No. 1 QB in the 2028 recruiting class.
Holding onto that title will not be easy, and as CBS Sports explained he is currently in a tight battle to remain the No. 1 QB in the country.
5-star Georgia commit Jayden Wade has new competition in Christopher Vargas
Right now it is a two person race to be the top ranked quarterback in the country. Wade currently holds that title, but not far behind in the 247Sports rankings is Christopher Vargas.
Just how close are these two to each other? Wade is the No. 2 overall player in the country while Vargas is the No. 5 player. The next closest quarterback is ranked No. 48 in the country, so it really only is a battle between Wade and Vargas at this point.
Is there really much of a difference between these two players right now? Not really, but the goal is to be the No. 1 player at your position so this is a battle Wade will be motivated to win.
Unfortunately for Wade his ranking is already on the decline as Rivals dropped him outside of the top 30 in their rankings a few weeks ago. That is still a very strong ranking, but that big of a drop is a bit concerning.
This new rivalry will be something Georgia fans will want to pay close attention to. Even if he was the No. 2 QB in the country his commitment would still be a big deal, but being able to say that a quarterback committed to Georgia is the No. 1 player in the country has a nice ring to it.
