Georgia's No. 1 commit in their 2027 recruiting class is Kemon Spell. He is a five-star running back and the No. 6 overall player in the country, so his commitment alone is a good enough reason to be excited about the Bulldogs's class.
Spell originally committed to Georgia on February 2, and ever since then has remained loyal to Kirby Smart. Other schools have tried to get involved in his recruitment, but so far he hasn't allowed that to happen and won't even give these schools the time of day.
That is what has made Spell the perfect commit for Georgia, and the fact that he will be in Athens the next two weekends is the perfect message that Smart wants to see as Georgia enters the busiest month of recruiting.
2027 5-star RB commit Kemon Spell @KemonJones9 tells me that he will take an unofficial visit to Georgia this weekend, followed by an official visit to Athens the week after.

Kemon Spell's back-to-back trips to Georgia can't go unnoticed
Spell's official visit to Georgia is scheduled for next weekend. That is the only official visit he will take, so that fact alone is a really big deal for Georgia. But Spell is also in Athens this weekend on an unofficial visit which confirms the message he has been saying ever since he committed to Georgia.
Throughout his recruitment Spell has had to say that he isn't interested in any other schools multiple times. And even after saying that countless times other schools have still tried to make their pitch to him, but that at end of the day that is just what happens to the No. 1 running back in the country. But Spell has remained faithful to Georgia and it doesn't seem like that will ever change.
Spell's back-to-back trips these next two weekends sends that message as well without him even having to say it. Actions speak louder than words, and right now his actions are saying that he is going to be a Bulldog no matter what.
Kemon Spell's important role could help solve Georgia's struggles
Spell will now play an important role for Georgia throughout the rest of his recruitment. Now he can focus on helping recruit other players to Georgia as well, and there is no better recruit to do that with than four-star wide receiver Jamir Dean who is in Athens this weekend as well.
Dean is currently committed to Penn State just like Spell once was. So if Dean can hear from Spell about why he chose to flip to Georgia then maybe that will be just what he needs to pull the trigger and flip to the Bulldogs as well.
Spell will be able to help recruit any other player to Georgia as well, but the similar journey he and Dean have had is why he is so important. Only time will tell if Spell is able to help flip him to Georgia, but as long as he remains committed to Georgia then that is the only thing that really matters, but any other recruit he is able to bring with him to Athens is just icing on the cake.
